CULTURE SHOCK celebrates 20 years of Hip-Hop Dance with International Showcase performances!
On Friday, October 19th a Youth Showcase featuring performances by Future, Mini, Mighty Shock and other community dance crews kicks off the 2-day live Civic Theatre show schedule.
The International Choreographers Showcase on Saturday, October 20th will be the largest event of this special 20th Anniversary celebration and will spotlight Culture Shock troupes from all over the world as well as America's Best Dance Crew season five winners Poreotics and ABDC favorites Kaba Modern.
Established in 1993, Culture Shock San Diego has expanded to outposts in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Oakland, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, D.C and Ottawa and Toronto, Canada. The organization has helped to launch the careers of prominent dancers like the Jabbawockeez and many alumni have gone on to dance with big-name musicians such as Michael Jackson, Usher, Britney Spears, Beyonce and Missy Elliott. As part of its mission, the troupes use Hip-Hop dance to promote positivity and conduct youth outreach programs.
