      EVENT DETAILS
San Diego Whale & Dolphin Watching Tours

As part of our mission, the San Diego Natural History Museum partners with Hornblower Cruises and Events to provide an unparalleled opportunity to experience gray whale watching off the San Diego coast. Each gray whale watching experience is narrated by experienced Hornblower captains and the Museum Whalers, museum-trained naturalists. The Whalers enthusiastically share their knowledge about the dolphins, whales, ocean sunfish, sea lions, and birds. On the way back to the harbor, passengers can join them on the lower deck to learn more about marine life, touch real whale specimens, and even create a souvenir origami whale. These 3.5 hour cruises are great for guests of all ages. Come meet some of natureís largest animals and enjoy a day on the water with family and friends. Cruises will return in mid-December. Cruises depart from 910 N. Harbor Drive at 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM. Purchase tickets through Hornblower Cruises and Events.--https://www.hornblower.com/port/overview/sd+whalewatching If the whales are here, that means that dolphins are here too! San Diego is one of the best locations to watch whales year-round! Gray Whales migrate winter-spring from feeding grounds in Alaskan waters to calving lagoons in Baja California and back. Experience Whale Watching in San Diego on the fastest, largest and most comfortable ship in San Diego! San Diego Whale Watching is the ultimate eco-adventure and also showcases local environmental efforts. Narration is performed LIVE by our experienced captain and trained naturalists called "Whalers" from the San Diego Natural History Museum. On the way to watch the Whale Migration you will also see all the famous and historic sights of the San Diego Bay: Navy Submarine Base, NOSC and the Point Loma Light House and Cabrillo National Monument.
