      BMC Dialogue Series: Path to the C-Suite

      The Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate's (BMC) BMC Dialogue Series highlights important topics facing women in real estate. For the past two years, this conference has focused on unconscious bias in the workplace and strategies for empowerment, both of which focused greatly on diversity and inclusion. This year's event, "BMC Dialogue Series: Path to the C-Suite," will go a further step and discuss the implementation of these ideas. Our keynote, Gayle Starr, is the former managing director of capital markets at Prologis, and is currently a special consultant to the company on diversity initiatives. She is also a consultant for Bridge33 and is a trustee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Starr will highlight an action plan for promoting women into the c-suite, which is based on a successful toolkit. Starr will share her personal experiences from her time at Prologis where the company had implemented these ideas into its business plan. Following Starr, a panel including: Ann Bruce '02, partner at Cruzan; Natalie Dahl '01, managing director at CBRE; and Emma Epes, partner at EY, will discuss their individual journeys to the c-suite. Rita Brandin, senior vice president and development director at Newland Communities, will moderate the panel discussion.  FAQs  Do I need a ticket for this event?There is no need to print a ticket to this event. Please check-in by your last name when you arrive at the registration desk. What is the dress code for this event?The dress code is business. What are my parking options at the venue?Parking information for the University of San Diego campus:  We will provide complimentary "metered parking" in the West Parking Structure on campus for all non-university affiliated attendees.  Attendees shall enter the USD campus at the "Marion Way"/West Entrance at the bottom of the hill on Linda Vista Road. Take your first left just after the kiosk booth (you do not need to stop at the kiosk booth unless you need directions). On the way to the parking structure, you will see a BMC representative handing out event parking passes. ATTENDEES MUST PICK UP AN EVENT PARKING PERMIT FROM THE BMC REPRESENTATIVE AT THE STOP SIGN NEAR THE TRAM STOP (MAIN LEVEL OF THE WEST PARKING STRUCTURE). The BMC representative will have signage. Place the parking permit on your dashboard so it is visible to avoid a parking citation.  Once parked, proceed to the USD tram marked “Special Event” which will take you to and from the venue.  Classes will be in session on the day of the event, so please be sure to allow plenty of time for parking and check-in. If attending this event with colleagues or friends, we strongly encourage carpooling to the event. What is the refund policy?Refunds (minus the Eventbrite fee which is non-refundable) will be provided for cancellations received with written e-mail notification by Oct. 16, 2019. No refunds will be provided for any cancellations after Oct. 16, 2019. Is my registration/ticket transferrable?Fees paid for attendance to the Oct. 23, 2019 BMC Dialogue Series event are transferable to another attendee of your choice with written e-mail notification to within 48 business hours of the conference.
