      Conversations with Color

Get your Memorial Day weekend off to an artful start with an exciting new contemporary art exhibition set to open on the 26th of May 2017.

The Bonita Museum has secured a show highlighting the work of three contemporary artists working on a common theme in three different mediums. “Conversations with Color” will open 5:30- 8:00 pm on May 26th Memorial Day and an artist reception with food and a live painting on Saturday June 3rd 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Amanda Saint Claire, www.amandasaintclaire.com, will be showcasing work from her recent series “999”. Her ease of storytelling is woven into the textures and color techniques she employs with the traditional mediums of oil and charcoal on wooden panels to create the unconventional. Saint Claire says that each of these paintings represents an internal conversation representing ideas about self compassion and the power that comes with deep reflection. Saint Claire is a military veteran and an award winning artist and a member of the LA Art Association, laaa.org. Saint Claire’s award winning work can also be viewed at the Lewis PR Firm as a part of the international “Orbital” show on view until the end of June and at the Innovation Center, San Diego.

Paul Kauffman, www.paulkauffmanart.com, is no stranger to color but this exhibit will also include some works in black and silver metallic. Paul believes that black facilitates internal conversation because it absorbs light and energy, drawing in all color and pushing the viewer into deep thought, revealing more than it obscures. Paradoxically, the metallic mirrors back and provides a reflective quality thus creating a dialogue within. Paul Kauffman has worn many hats over his six decade career as a creative that all pour into his artistic expression. Paul is an award winning artist whose work has been exhibited throughout San Diego and Los Angeles County.

Terri Rippee, www.Rippeephotography.com, rounds out the trio with her “Boneyard” series of fine art photography. Terri captures the colors and textures of these iconic old Vegas signs in a way that evokes an abstract rending. The printing is equally as evocative on an acrylic surface which showcases the feel of the metal. Also included in the show is a very eye catching special edition printing that combines her organic botanical images with the “Boneyard” for a very unique experience. Terri is a third-generation artist whose keen eye is valued by her collectors and clients of her photographic work. Terri has been a featured artist at the San Diego ArtWalk and exhibited throughout San Diego and Orange County.

The art exhibit entitled Conversations with Color will be on view from May 26, 2017 – July 8, 2017 with an opening celebration scheduled for Friday, May 26th 5:30 to 8:00 pm and an Artist Reception and Live Painting Demonstration with Artist Paul Kauffman on June 3rd at 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Bonita Art Museum, 4355 Bonita Road, Bonita CA 91902.
