Experiential Movement Lab: Balance of Mind, Body & Creative Spirit.

WHAT: In partnership with Vanguard Culture, Improvisation Project Network presents the Experiential Movement Lab to help research how physical movement can be a metaphor for finding balance in life and overall health. Movement can help people find connection to their inner-self, and create a sense of responsibility and acknowledgement for those practicing it. Workshops will be curated by internationally trained dance improvisor Patricia Maldonado and will incorporate guest teachers from the San Diego region and beyond. Improvisation Project Network supports improvisers and developing alternative platforms that unite the Mexican and U.S. border.WHY:To use dance and improvisational movement to provide creative personal and professional development for the community at large. To break sedentary patterns in our daily lives that lead to physical and creative atrophy. Attendees will learn to eliminate fear and self-doubt in their interactions with the world around them, using movement as a catalyst for identifying one’s greater purpose.FOR WHOM IS THIS WORKSHOP?- Professionals from all creative fields and individuals curious about Movement or the Body itself.- Those interested in maintaining a healthy balance of mind, body and creative spirit.HOW?By analyzing elements of our existing movement patterns and encouraging conscious action and awareness of the way that we engage with our bodies. We will look deep into questions that analyze our posture, tendencies in movement, internal motivations, and creative purpose.WHERE:Vanguard Culture Headquarters @ IDEA1 899 Park Blvd. #124San Diego, Ca 92101WHENMondays: July 1 - August 26, 20197pm-8:30pm COST:$5.00 Creative Industry Professionals$10.00 General Admission ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:PATRICIA MALDONADO is an independent interpretative dance professional with extensive experience in dance, choreography, and performance administration from her native country of Guatemala.
