      Vista High School - Fall Youth Hiring Day 2019

      If you looking to hire high school students or lending your insight into the hiring process then Youth Hiring Day is for you. This can be especially relevant if you are looking to hire for the upcoming holiday season. 

      This event is a combination event of pre-employment workshops, along with job fair at lunch, hiring manager panel and one-on-one interview practice. 

      There are several ways to participate - choose one or more.

      1 - A table at the Job Fair during lunch (11:30-12:30) - this is recommended for all participants or if you can only make one session. 

      2 -  A Q&A Hiring Manager panel with 60-120 students answering questions about the hiring process and your company. 

      3 - Participation in doing one-on-one practice interviews with students.

      You can choose all three or just one depending on your availability.

      For each participant in the Job Fair portion at lunch:

      You will be provided with a 3ft x 6ft table with 2 chairs and you are free to bring any materials, flyers or displays that you need to use. If you have a standard table size display for trade shows - the table is about the same size as most convention facilities.

      If you have special needs such as power or have complex setup (such as a booth), please contact us prior to the event day so we can accommodate your needs.

      The Job Fair is held outside in the main quad during lunch with all 2,200 students present.

      For participants in the hiring manager panels:

      You are free to bring any materials, flyers or hand-outs and are encouraged to do so. We suggest having something small to give away to help keep the questions coming.


      Do I need a ticket for each member of my group?

      You only need to register one person in the group. We will be contacting you to get the names of the those attending in your group prior to the event. You are reserving a table with your ticket.

      What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

      There will be parking available to participants in our campus lots. Please indicate if you need more than one parking space. There will be room up front in the parking lot to unload materials or equipment.

      What can I bring to the Job Fair portion of the event?

      You are encouraged to bring hand-outs, flyers and other materials. You should be bringing table covers or backdrops that identify your organization to the students at a glance. If you want to bring a larger setup such as a 10x10 tent or a van/coach, please contact us so we can make the proper preparations.

      What happens if it rains that day?

      If we get rain - we can move the event inside the gym at lunch. We will give you notice in advance of the venue change.
